Bridgetown Legacy Mural Proposal
Hello Shawn, Grace, and Kye,
It’s been far too long since connecting with you all since our initial in-person meeting. Life threw my family some curve balls that required some time and attention. Your mural project has been on my mind and I’m excited for the opportunity to jump in and create something perfect for your business. My proposal is detailed below.
Costs:
$3,485.00 total
$785.00 for paint, plastic, tape, rollers, brushes, paper, and travel/purchase time costs.
$2700.00 for installation/painting time.
Detailed breakdowns of these costs available upon request.
Concept:
I’ve spent a number of hours sketching, both in pencil and playing in photoshop, on the idea of bridges interacting with the mountains and tree concept we spoke about. I even spent a day photographing Portland bridges while thinking about your mural (just a fun day for me!). I came up with a lot of ideas based on all of that, however, I have not liked any of those ideas. I’ll explain. They look desperate, cheap (?), over-reaching. Your’s is a financial company, dealing with wealth management - it is serious business. My degree is in Visual Communications, Graphic Design specifically, corporate branding, I think its important for me to use those skills in this mural. Your’s is not a snow cone vendor or an american-mexican restaurant that might have an overdone painting on its wall with every cactus, bird, agave plant, flower, mountain, etc etc etc on it. We want to stay corporate and classy. Less is more. We don’t need to tell an entire story, we simply need to set the scene.
So I’m thinking this should remain very simple. Three walls (shown below) of mountains, hills, trees, and river. Very much like what I did for Vibra Specialty Hospital that you initially liked. Side note - that hospital has closed its doors and that mural has been painted over.. A simple understated nature scene like that would be a wonderful backdrop for your office. In addition, it would allow room for you to hang a nice logo graphic over it in the future (Grace’s idea, can’t take credit), or any other photographs or art in the future.
Timeline:
This project will take 9-12 business days.
I can schedule this for any 2-week period from Friday, August 14th - Thursday, September 10th. Or anytime after September 22nd. As a substitute teacher I would prefer it done sooner than later as school will be starting in September, but happy to do it whenever!
Payment:
I require 50% down upon acceptance of project, the remaining 50% will be billed on the day of completion and due two weeks from that date. My prices do not go up, the quote I’m giving is the final price regardless of whether it takes 8 or 12 days. Set price.
Sample Images:
These are some photo’s of the Vibra mural that I applied to your walls. I would like yours to be more in depth than theirs was but similar. I’m suggesting it cover the 3 walls shown here.
